The development and implementation of the Qualification System for Material, Component and Construction System Companies (SiMaC) has shown that the possibility of reducing costs, without prejudice to quality, depends on the articulation of public and private agents to progressively increase the technological development of the improvement of management methods and product compliance levels.
This articulation happens within the scope of the Sectoral Quality Programs, through which the sectoral entities of manufacturers of products for the construction industry develop actions aimed at the technological growth of the sector, and the fight against production in non compliance with the relevant Technical Standards, following the guidelines of the PBQP-H (Brazilian Habitat Productivity and Quality Program).
ANFACER (Brazilian Association of Manufacturers of Ceramic Tiles, Sanitary Ware and Related Products) was founded in 1984 with the purpose of representing nationally and internationally the Brazilian ceramic tile industry. It represents a sector composed of 94 companies, which operate 117 industrial plants, in 18 states.
ANFACER is the sponsor of the Sectoral Quality Program (PSQ) of Ceramic Tiles and the Ceramic Center of Brazil, a non-profit and third party private law entity, is the Technical Managing Entity of the Program.
The Sectoral Quality Program for Ceramic Tiles aims to:
The quality of ceramic tiles for the coating of various water absorption groups is currently being evaluated: AI, BIa, BIb, BIIa, BIIb and BIII. Sampling is carried out on factory dispatch or on resale of building materials. These samples are quarterly. The collected samples are sent to LabCCB or another laboratory accredited by Inmetro's General Accreditation Coordination and the results are transmitted to the companies and disclosed in the sector reports.
